PA Gaming Control Board Revokes Privileges of 22 People

PGCB logoIn a recent move to enforce gaming regulations across the state, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board* (PGCB) announced that it has placed 22 individuals on various involuntary exclusion lists, effectively barring them from all forms of gambling within Pennsylvania. This includes both land-based casinos and PGCB-regulated online platforms.

Getting added to one of these lists means you’re no longer permitted to play at casinos, interact with internet gaming sites licensed in PA, or use Video Gaming Terminals (VGTs) at truck stops and similar venues. The action is part of a broader enforcement effort designed to protect the integrity of gambling operations and ensure compliance with state laws.

According to the latest state press release, the 22 newly banned individuals are now part of a total of nearly 1,500 people on the PGCB’s involuntary exclusion rosters, lists the board maintains for career offenders, fraud cases, and other violations that are viewed as harmful to regulated gaming in the Commonwealth.

These enforcement steps echo previous actions by the board, including the placement of others on exclusion lists, the imposition of fines on operators, and public awareness campaigns about issues such as irresponsible gambling behavior.

As part of the regulatory framework, the PGCB also oversees responsible gaming programs, licensing, and industry compliance statewide.

Online Casino Options in Pennsylvania (Offshore & Domestic)

Pennsylvania has one of the most developed online gambling markets in the U.S., offering a broad mix of domestic (state-regulated) and online PA casino options (offshore). Whether you’re new to online play or a seasoned pro, knowing your options can help you choose how and where you want to gamble.

Domestic (State-Licensed) Online Casinos

The following platforms operate under strict oversight by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board and offer high levels of security, fair play, and consumer protections:

  • BetMGM PA
  • Caesars Palace Online & Horseshoe Online
  • DraftKings Casino & FanDuel Casino
  • BetRivers, Borgata, PokerStars & More

State apps have built-in geolocation verification to ensure you’re physically in Pennsylvania before you can play, and winnings over certain thresholds must be reported for tax purposes.

Offshore Casino Sites

Many players also explore offshore PA casinos. These sites often appeal because they:

  • Offer larger welcome bonuses and promotions.
  • Provide cryptocurrency banking options.
  • May have fewer reporting requirements than state apps
